1. Introduction
These terms govern your use of tradez.au and the related sister sites x10.au and any subdomain hosted on either (collectively, "the Site"). By browsing the Site, requesting a listing, paying for a site build, or otherwise interacting with us, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please stop using the Site.
The Site is operated by Alex from Sydney, Australia. You can reach us at alex@tradez.au.
2. Definitions
- "We", "us", "our" — the operator of tradez.au.
- "You" — any visitor, listed business, or paying customer.
- "Directory" — the public list of Australian small businesses indexed at tradez.au and x10.au.
- "Customer" — a business that has paid us to build and host a website on their behalf.
- "Customer Site" — a website built by us, served from a subdomain such as
yourname.tradez.au.
3. The directory listings
Listings in the directory are compiled from publicly available sources — Google Maps, Yellow Pages, Facebook, Instagram, the Australian Business Register, business websites, and similar. We do not pay for or licence this data. We aggregate it so that consumers can find Sydney businesses in one place.
3.1 Free listing
If your business is listed and you're happy to be there, you don't owe us anything and you don't need to do anything. The listing is free.
3.2 Removal on request
If you don't want your business listed, email alex@tradez.au with the business name and suburb. We'll remove the listing from the next directory build (usually within 2 working days) and add the business to our internal "do not contact" list so you won't appear again in future scrapes.
3.3 Accuracy
We do our best to keep listings accurate but cannot guarantee that every phone number, opening hour, rating or address is current. If you spot an error in your own listing, email us and we'll fix it. We are not liable for losses arising from inaccurate or out-of-date information.
3.4 No verification
Unlike subscription-based "verified tradie" services, we do not verify ABNs, licences, insurance, or business credentials of listed businesses. The directory is a convenience index, not a vetting service. Always check credentials directly with the tradie before engaging them — see section 10.
4. Our website-build service
If you pay us to build a Customer Site, the scope of what's included is:
- One website built in one of five hand-coded design styles (Trade Classic, Premium Architect, Workshop Dark, Garden & Trades, Modern Studio).
- Up to 5 photos and approximately 200 words of copy supplied by you.
- Hosting on Cloudflare Pages (or equivalent) including SSL.
- A subdomain of your choice (e.g.
yourname.tradez.au) subject to availability. - Schema.org
LocalBusinessmarkup for Google's Local Pack. - Listing on the public directory at tradez.au.
- One free content edit per 12-month period (additional edits at $50 each).
Items not included unless purchased separately: custom logo design, custom photography, e-commerce/cart functionality, online booking integration beyond a single calendar link, custom domain registration (a custom .com.au add-on costs an additional $50), copy writing beyond polishing what you supply.
5. Fees, payment & renewals
The current fee schedule:
- $700 AUD setup fee (once, includes year 1 hosting).
- $100 AUD per year renewal hosting fee from year 2 onward.
- Optional add-ons (custom domain $50, premium directory placement $20/mo, style swap $50, additional edit $50) charged as used.
Some businesses on our outreach list may receive an introductory offer below the standard $700 setup, reflecting that we've already pre-built a draft of their site. This intro offer is at our discretion and is not available on request. The standard public price for new customers is $700.
Setup fees are payable up front. Renewal fees are payable annually on the anniversary of your site going live; we'll email a reminder 14 days before renewal is due. If renewal is not paid within 30 days of due date, we may suspend the Customer Site and remove the directory listing.
6. Customer content & ownership
You retain ownership of any text, photos, logos, or other content you supply to us. By supplying content for your Customer Site, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display and reproduce it on tradez.au and related platforms for the purpose of operating your Customer Site and the directory.
You warrant that you have the rights to all content you supply and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's copyright, trademarks or privacy rights. You agree to indemnify us against any claims arising from content you supply.
The HTML, CSS, JavaScript and template designs we use are ours. You're licensed to use them for your Customer Site for as long as you remain a current customer in good standing. They are not transferable, and you may not export the template designs to another host.
7. Hosting & uptime
Customer Sites are hosted on Cloudflare Pages (or an equivalent edge-hosting platform). Cloudflare publishes a 99.99% uptime SLA but we make no guarantees on top of that — if Cloudflare goes down, your site will be down with everyone else's. We are not liable for losses arising from third-party hosting outages.
8. Cancellation & refunds
You can cancel at any time. Email alex@tradez.au and we'll take the site down at the end of the current paid period.
Setup fees are non-refundable once we've started work (i.e. once the first design draft has been sent to you). Before that point, we'll refund 100%.
Annual renewal fees are non-refundable once paid. We won't pro-rate a partial year.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Site or our services is capped at the amount you've paid us in the previous 12 months. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost revenue, lost data, lost business opportunities) under any circumstances.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantees or rights you have under Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Third-party tradies & businesses
tradez.au is an advertising/directory platform only. We are not a marketplace, we don't take a cut of jobs, and we don't act as agent for any business listed.
If you contact a tradie or business via tradez.au:
- Any contract or agreement is directly between you and that business — we're not a party to it.
- We do not verify ABNs, insurance, licences or credentials of listed businesses. Always check directly.
- We are not responsible for the quality, timeliness, safety or legality of any work performed.
- We are not responsible for deposits paid, disputes, delays, or damages.
- Any reviews shown are aggregated from third-party platforms (Google, etc.) and reflect those platforms' content, not our endorsement.
Always research any tradie or business before engaging them — confirm their licence number with the relevant state regulator, check their insurance, get a written quote, and use a written contract for jobs over $1,000.
11. Intellectual property
The "tradez.au" and "x10.au" names, the visual identity, the page designs, and all underlying code are owned by us. You may link to public pages on the Site freely. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute, or use our designs or aggregated directory data for commercial purposes without our written consent.
Listed businesses' names, logos and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
12. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site to send spam, harass listed businesses, or scrape data at scale.
- Misrepresent yourself when contacting us about a listing or build.
- Submit content that's defamatory, fraudulent, obscene, or unlawful.
- Attempt to bypass authentication or access systems you're not entitled to.
- Use any tradez.au customer subdomain for content unrelated to the customer's business.
We reserve the right to remove listings, suspend customer sites, or refuse service for any breach of acceptable use.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always at tradez.au/terms. Material changes will be flagged with a banner on the Site for at least 7 days. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.
